Hey there, fitness enthusiast! Let’s talk about something that can take your workout from meh to magnificent: music. Yup, that’s right – those tunes you love listening to, or your favorite podcast or audiobook can absolutely be your secret weapon for staying motivated, energized, and totally pumped during your workout. In this article, we’ll dive into how you can use the power of music to turbocharge your workouts and discuss a few options for listening devices.

  1. Getting in the Groove: First off, you’ll want to pick the vibe for your workout. Think about what kind of exercise you’re about to tackle and pick tunes that match the mood. Need some adrenaline for that run or HIIT session? Cue up those high-energy tracks with a fast beat. If you’re winding down with yoga or stretching, opt for something more chill and melodic. Some of my dear friends have even crafted playlists of their faves to keep things fun and keeps them energized.

  2. Zone In, Tune Out: Ever notice how time flies when you’re lost in the music, or even your favorite podcast or audiobook? That’s because these audible distractions help you focus and block out things around you, so you can give your workout your full attention. Whether you’re lifting weights or perfecting your downward dog, music keeps you centered and in sync with your body.

  3. Make It Personal: At the end of the day, it’s all about connecting with the music on a personal level. Choose songs that speak to you – whether they remind you of a special moment, pump you up for a challenge, or simply make you smile. Building a playlist that reflects your unique tastes and motivations turns your workout into a personal party where you’re the DJ and the star of the show.

So how do you listen to your favorite jams! I mean, I know they are your favorites but they may not be the favorites for those around you, so we need to have headphones or earbuds right? Right! So the next step is to find the listening accessories that is right for you and your workout style. Fo me, I have struggled with the majority of earbuds because I have tragus piercings- you know, that little piece of cartilage to the front of your ear. So I have tried a few different options and wanted to share with you, my top three pics! 

1. Amazon Echobuds with active noise canceling 2021 release- second generation. These things are my absolute favorite!  They have 5 hour playtime without a charge or 15 with the charging case. In addition, they are similar to the echo dots so you can use Alexa to skip song, turn up the volume, etc., they stay in place and are so comfortable! They are fantastic. 

2. Before I had the Echobuds, I had Beats by Dre! These were exceptional as well, especially for sound quality. Talk about bass. These earbuds deliver. They aren’t quite as comfortable for my particular situation but they work well. In addition, they have a longer listening time, coming in at 8 hours, 24 with the rechargeable case. I would definitely recommend these as well. 

3. Sony ULT Wear noise canceling earphones! I haven’t actually tried this version of the Sony headphones but since they have Alexa capabilities, they would definitely be superior to the ones that I wear while traveling or when my Echobuds need to be charged. They are full coverage earphones so they are, of course, bulkier than the other two options. This has it’s pros and cons when it comes to hitting the gym, but they can be amazing depending on your preferences!
